Flow Factory

Dr. Leonard Papenmeier

Leonard is a Postdoc at the Department of Information Systems at the University of Münster. In his research, he utilizes probabilistic machine learning models to quantify uncertainty or improve AI applications.

Leonard’s research focuses on Bayesian optimization - a technique for optimizing functions that are expensive to evaluate. One example of this is the hyperparameter optimization of AI algorithms. Within the Flow Factory, he applies related methods to quantify uncertainty, for instance, to assess the reliability of chatbots.

Before joining the Flow Factory, Leonard completed his PhD at Lund University. His dissertation focused on high-dimensional problems, which he investigated using Bayesian optimization methods.
