AI innovations for financial practice
The Flow Factory is dedicated to the research of AI-based innovations for the transformation of processes in the financial sector. It was founded by the Sparkassenverband Westfalen-Lippe, the Finanz Informatik and their partners with the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS) of the University of Münster as a shared research lab for Artifical Intelligence.
Design Science Oriented
At the Flow Factory we research real world phenomena. We employ Design Science Research where the development of an artifact is in the focus. There is a plethora of different types of artifacts: a framework, a software, a method. The developed artifact helps solving problems of practical relevance.
Process Science Oriented
Everything is a process. Based on this paradigm we research processes. To this end, we utilize Digital Trace Data and modern technologies to discover, explain, and improve processes. We view processes through an interdisciplinary lens to create generalizable solutions.
