Flow Factory

AI Innovations in Finance

The Flow Factory researches AI-based innovations for the transformation of business processes in finance.

As a joint research lab of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe and the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS) at the University of Münster, it combines scientific excellence with practical relevance in the field of processes and artificial intelligence.
At the Flow Factory, we pursue a design-oriented research approach in order to address practical issues. Our prototypes are developed in a human-centered and iterative way - in close collaboration with users. Evaluation is not just a final step, but accompanies the entire development process so that solutions can be continuously adapted and improved.

Flow Forum: From Student to Executive

07.07.2025 | University of Münster Professional School

How do you actually become a board member? And what does day-to-day management look like? At our first Flow Forum, Frank Demmer, future CEO of LBS, answered these and many more questions. In front of over 40 interested students, he gave personal insights into his career, from the beginnings to the top of the company. He not only described his decisive career steps, but also spoke about current challenges and future strategies at LBS.

A key topic was the use of artificial intelligence and the strategic approach that LBS is pursuing in this area. The company's competitive situation and how LBS intends to position itself in the market in the future were also discussed in depth.

Afterwards, there was an opportunity for personal discussions over drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. We would like to thank Frank Demmer for his time and the exciting impressions, and the students for their interest and the lively discussion.
